My Own Utopian Experiment #14: Say no to unnecessary stress and pressure. Recognize the real beauty.
There is so much emphasizes on external appearances. We are all brainwashed to certain points. I am not immune to that but I consciously validate my own contradictions when I catch it. It gets better and better each time. It is going to take some time to unlearn that’s been learned past 30 years. A lot of these beauty standards are set up by businesses and marketing that they are trying to sell things for people trying to get the looks.
We should never judge bodies on how it looks but how it feels and what the bodies do for us. Thin and tanned body does not always mean a healthy body. If it feels good and working for you, you are beautiful. In return, you are obligated to treat your body well with food, care and love it needs. Our bodies do not need to look certain ways to deserve food, care and love. It is that simple. Let’s practice this week for positive body images and say no to unnecessary stress and noises. Be you and you are beautiful the way you are! Put some hot clothes, spread your invisible wings, chin up and enjoy being in your body.
- If you gained some weight during pandemic and kept the extra pounds, congrats! You survived the pandemic. (My case) You are beautiful.
- If you fine lines and wrinkles, good for you. You lived another year and that’s a good thing. You are beautiful.
- If you have scars, don’t hide it but show it off. You are survivor and that’s your badge. You are beautiful.
- If you have gray hairs, show it off. You earned it with your life experiences and wisdom. You are beautiful.
- If you have stretch marks from child birth, buy a bikini this summer. It is a stamp on your body saying you are a mom. You are beautiful.
- If you can’t fit in old clothes, gift your hard-working bodies comfy clothes. You are beautiful.
- If you have freckles on your face, I really think they look like so many starts in the open sky at night. You are beautiful.
- If you lost a limb, you are a survivor and worrier. Your body shows your bravery and resilience. You are beautiful.
- If you are having a bad hair day, tie it up or leave it alone. No matter how the hair looks. You are beautiful.
- If you don’t have a flat belly, it is perfectly normal. It supposed to be round. You are beautiful.
- If you have acnes or acne scars, it represents your youthfulness. You are beautiful.
- If you have short legs, they do double hard work when you need to walk or run. They are powerful! You are beautiful.
List goes on. When you feel good, you are beautiful. That means your bodies are working hard for you. They are all kinds of beauties out there. We are all part of it. Don’t forget to put some hot clothes, spread your invisible wings, chin up and enjoy being in your body. Sending my love as always.
Amen!
Amen! We all are beautiful!
