Conscious Living with Intentions by Asking Meaningful Questions

My Own Utopian Experiment #17: Examined Life, know your answers to important questions

“The unexamined life is not worth living” by Socrates

The Socrates famous dictum says it all. When you want to go to a destination, you need to know how and why. That’s what the journey makes it joyful, meaningful, fulfilling, and bearable when things are not perfect.

These are some of the questions I had to answer to feel more grounded, contentment and find joys, purpose and meanings. I can’t possible share all but these are very fundamental things personally. I want all of my posts to be a discussion rather than a lecture. I hope you take a moment to answer it in your own terms. It is not about having it all figured out but giving a thought matter. Like Socrates said, examined life! It is so worth to think about our values so we live daily life up to our values. Where your time and money go are your priorities. Priorities exist in your actions rather than your thoughts and words. This is a simple way of re-focusing my days aligned with my values and priorities. Among our busy lives and many responsibilities, it is nice to re-focus ourselves. If anyone is interested in my answers on any of the below, I can write a post about it next time. Feel free to let me know as always. Have summer fun! Sending my love.

  • If we know our highest virtues and values, can anything else really bother us to the point of despair and burnout?

  • How much is enough?

If we know money is just a tool and it won’t do much good without having purpose and philosophy, would this acknowledgement help on money stress and greed?

    • Why do we need gym membership?

If we all live an active life, do we really need to go to the gym?

      • Do we need supplements?

If we have enough outdoor activities/chores along with balanced meals, do we still need supplements?

      • Why do people feel lonely and isolated?

If I am truly open to other people and all living things on this planet, can we still feel lonely?

If you accept all the living things are friends with different languages and looks, can we still feel isolated?

      • Why would do something right when nobody is watching?

Isn’t it true that I am watching myself all the time and know what I have done?

        • should success be measured by how you feel rather than what you have?

If you do not feel good, how much does your possession/accomplishment matter to you?

        • While we know humans can’t predict the future, how much are you investing in today rather than the future?

        • Are you spending time, the most limited resources, on the things that truly matter to you?

        • If you ask your close friends and family to pick one word to describe you, what would that be? What do you want it to be?

        • What do you want your kids/grandkids/next generation to remember about you?

        • What’s your legacy and life purpose?
