My Own Utopian Experiment #15: Celebrating mother’s day with gratitude
I am a mother myself. We cry, laugh and pray for our kids. Each day has its own joys and hardships. We tend to overcome the hardships for them. Our kids are our purpose to go through anything. Moms are special like that.
Mother’s Day is a good excuse to spread thanks and appreciate the fact that we all came from mom. This is my list of the things that are important to be a mom and also appreciate in my own mother. Of course, I can’t possibly write everything down but just want to take a moment to shout MOMS ROCK!
- Thanks for mom providing endless food
Thanks for providing three meals a day, snacks and treats. This is one of the toughest chores as a working mom. It requires planning and preparing ahead but I enjoy watching him eating and getting empty lunch box each day. Definitely rewarding! This is consistent hard work day to day.
- Thanks for all the love from mom
Your love and care are foods for soul. Your hug has magic from stopping tears to feel better at the end of the day. You always put me before you and I witness the unconditional love every day. I feel cared, protected, loved and mostly importantly proud that you are my mom.
- Thanks for being a shelter
You are somewhere I can go when storms come. No matter where I am, having the shelter to go back to make me feel safe and secure. I am protected that way.
- Thanks to have a faith in me
You are always proud of me regardless of external achievements. There’s no better encouragement than your strong faith.
- Thanks for being a good model
You are wonderful in many ways. Hardworking, smart, resilient and especially the way to love life. I was looking forward to be an adult because of you. I am trying very hard to give the gifts you gave me to my child.
- Thanks for being my best friend (this is from my child)
This is so sweet. It is better than anything else. He likes to play with me, goes out with me and spends time with me in general. We are looking forward to summer break soon. We will do as many as dates are possible. Some from out bucket list: an interesting restaurant packed with miniature trains, ice cream stores, go to movies, go to an art festival with food trucks, outdoor pools, BBQ in the backyards, play dates with friends, pick out toys, library visits, vacation near beach, etc.
- Thanks for the sleepover (this is from my child)
I allow him to sleepover in my room a few times a year just for fun. I do not necessary get the quality sleep but have to say it is fun. I enjoy while I have it.
- Thanks for enjoying my friends (this is from my child)
Our highest moments are playing outside with kids in the neighborhood under nice weather at the end of the day. I love going out with him and watch kids playing. There’s nothing better in this world than watching kids playing together and witness their innocence. My child recently thanked me for liking and enjoying his friends. I was not doing it for him. I truly enjoy the participation. I often have conversations with innocent souls. It heals me. Who does not like innocent souls? I get to be the child all over again!
It is your day. Enjoy! Don’t forget to tell your mom that you love her. Sending my love as always.
