March’s Book Review!
This is such an adorable poem-picture book. If you look it up on internet, it will just say poem and it is appropriate for age 12 or up. It almost sounds like a poem book for kids. It can be but I think it is for everyone. This is one book that suitable for the whole family.
What most sites do not explain is the pictures with each poem. It does not seem like they are not reading books to write descriptions. How can they miss the best part of it? It is so adorable and I love it. There are adult picture books are out there. Many of them are very expansive since it is a collection of arts. This one is affordable and comes with arts that go with poems. Even though you are not a big reader, you can read a nice calm poem at bedtime or pick a poem to read based on your mood. It has interesting concepts. Each chapter has its own theme as below.
- Chants & Charms: to bolster courage and guard against evil
- Spells & Innovations: to cause something to happen
- Laments & Remembrances: to remember, regret or grieve
- Praise Songs & Blessings: to celebrate, thanks or express love
Nice one to keep by bed for short relaxing reading or carry it around like I always do (size 5.5 x 0.48 x 9.25 inches). It has red thick bookmark strap which is always a plus for me. This can be introductory to picture books for adults and poem. Awake your young minds inside. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
