Experimenting with your interests is a key to self-discovery and passion

Passion is not something that you stumbled upon but you cultivate passion. What a big statement! If I write this in my own words, It goes like this. It often starts with fairly small interests. Your inner voice is telling you that you were drawn into it or you found something interesting. At this point, it is just an idea or something you came across. It is so small but strong enough to draw your attention about it. Time passes without looking into it, you grow indifferent and even justify yourself that you are busy with life and there are “better” things to do. Have you done this to yourself? I have but not anymore.

If we do not look into our interests further, how can we find something to cultivate it? Simple question to simple answer but this is easier to be said than done. You need to be conscious about your inner voices. Otherwise, you can easily brush it off. It does not mean to consider every opportunity but your soul can tell what’s in your heart. Do not dismiss it. Don’t convince yourself that there is no use trying such a thing or coming up with million other reasons why it is good idea not to try.

When you find yourself looking for a specific role in your industry, look into it to learn more about it. It may not sound as good as you thought or you may find your new calling. That’s the fun part. There’s no huge risk when you just look into it and learn more so you can take small steps or decide not to pursue. When a new hobby is in your mind, look into that too. It is important to experiment with your interests since there’s no other ways for you to know your passions. Passions do not have to be in careers or hobbies only. It can be anything in life, pets, plants, good causes, volunteering, homemaking, meeting different people, visiting some places, cooking, baking, etc.

Keep experiment with your interests and desires. These small steps will build up and learn more about yourself. You will be full of things that you enjoy. There is nothing more important than knowing more about yourself. This is also a way to make my life fun and relaxing for me. Share what your small and big findings are.
